In July and August 2025, our Form 4 and 5 Geography students joined the competition, which engaged secondary students in Smart City concepts and encouraged innovative solutions for transforming Hong Kong into a smarter, more sustainable city.
Over the course of the two-day workshop conducted by the Department of Building Environment and Energy Engineering, our students explored the concepts about the “Recycling for a Sustainable North” through lectures, laboratory sessions, site visits to relevant infrastructures and a government department, and guided discussions. This combination of theoretical knowledge and practical applications deepened their understanding of Smart City concepts and their real-world implications. After the seven-week development of their project and adjudication presentation, our students achieved the merit award.
