Hong Kong Astronomy Outreach Convention
2026-05-03

Our school's Astronomy Club committee members joined the “Hong Kong Astronomy Outreach Convention” on 3 May 2026. The outreach convention was organized by Hong Kong’s six major astronomical societies (Hong Kong Astronomical Society, Sky Observers’ Association (Hong Kong), Space Observers H.K., Starrix, Ho Koon Nature Education cum Astronomical Centre (Sponsored by Sik Sik Yuen), Hong Kong Astro Forum Limited) and co-organized by HKSAR Education Bureau. The convention was a prelude to the Asia-Pacific Region IAU Meeting (APRIM), which was also the Hong Kong’s largest-ever astronomy outreach conference.

The event featured a variety of seminars, aerospace modeling workshops, and planetarium experiences, attracting significant participation of students, teachers, and the general public. Through these activities, students deepened their understanding of celestial bodies, the universe, and aerospace technology. The event facilitated communication between the astronomy communities, allowing students to apply what they learned. All students found the experience profoundly rewarding.
