The 25th “Youth Leadership Development Scheme”: Exchange Tour to Sri Lanka and Closing Ceremony
2025-10-25

Last year, eight students from our school — 4B Xia Mandy, 4C LI Nim Chi, 5A LIU Hiu Tung, 5B YEUNG Wing Yee, 5B WONG E Lane, 5C LEE Ka Lam, 6C FUNG Chun Hei, and 6C NG Yuet — participated in the 25th “Youth Leadership Development Scheme”, organized by the Chinese YMCA of Hong Kong. This year-long program is designed to foster leadership qualities through experiential learning and adventure-based activities, guiding participants toward personal growth and reflective insights.

During the summer vacation, Mandy and Hiu Tung were invited by the organizing institution to participate in volunteer service in Sri Lanka. This exchange tour lasted for seven days, and was planned and hosted by 17 participants from different schools along with six alumni of the event. The goal was to promote cultural interaction among youths from both places and to embody self-regulated learning through practical experience. The activity was successfully completed.

On October 25, the organizer held the Scheme’s 25th graduation ceremony, marking the conclusion of this off-campus leadership training program. Both Mandy and Hiu Tung represented the exchange group to share their reflections on the event during the ceremony. On the same day, the Scheme’s 26th opening ceremony was also held, with participants from our school attending. We wish the new cohort of MST participants a fulfilling and inspiring journey.
